135Mile Charity Bike Ride
Staff from Derwentside Homes will be getting on their bikes to raise money for Willow Burn Hospice.
Willow Burn improves the quality of life for adults who have a life limiting illness and their families. Most local people have been touced in one way or another by the hospice, either by direct or indirect contact.
Services are delivered free of charge with the hospice recieving comparatively little government funding. It survives on the goodwill of voluntary support and local community fundraising activities. It is therefore important that regular fundraising takes place.
Organiser Stuart Fisher, Director of Elvet Construction Consultants has put together a team of not so elite 'athletes' to make the 135mile journey from Whitehaven to Sunderland.
The group will make the journey between 10th -12th September stopping off in Greystokes and Allenheads.
